Initial positioning of checkers
Gul Bara (Rosespring Backgammon, Crazy Narde) is one of LongGammon variations and is very similar to LongGammon; therefore present rules will list only distinct peculiarities of the game. Due to its hazard and dynamics it is also called the "Crazy Narde".
Initial positioning of checkers is exactly the same as in LongGammon. However, in this game doubles are very powerful unlike in LongGammon.
Distinct peculiarities from LongGammon
In the event of rolling a double the player should make 4 moves according to the number of points showing on each die, and then as if all doubles аre rolled, but greater than this double. For instance, if the player rolled [3*3], he/she could make 4 moves by 3, four by 4, four by 5, four by 6. However, if the player cannot finish this sequence of moves, then the opponent will make the remaining moves and the turn will be forfeited to him.
During the process of bearing off of checkers from the home board the player has no right to use the points from the dice at his own discretion, unlike in LongGammon – he could bear off the checkers only from fields, according to the number of points on the dice, but he cannot move them inside the home board. For instance, if the combination [6*3] is rolled, then the player can bear off one checker from the sixth field and one checker from the third one.
